Mitomycin C seems to be used on LASEK cases at a number of centres. The informed consent process is questionable. This is a dangerous drug the long term effect of which is unknown. Want to have impact - this is what you should be focusing on. Contact the MHRA and see what views they have about its use for cosmetic / lifestyle procedures...

Quote from link:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photorefractive_keratectomy

Mitomycin C worsens post-surgical dry eye.

When you add everything together, one can only wonder if this surgery should be permitted at all.

I was given no information that MMC is an unlicensed drug, and was not asked for my consent!

My understanding is that MMC is used in chemotherapy to treat cancer. It is also used in the US during refractive eye surgery, yet places like Centre for Sight don't go near it.

It was used on me, usual 0.02% dosage, nothing was explained to me. But even if it was, unless you're an expert in this field, are you going to question the surgeons if they tell you it will reduce the risk of haze?

OERML & My Beautiful Eyes Foundation rely on your support to expose the horrors of this unregulated industry.

Your help is very much appreciated!
