Incredible !!! Perhaps a lack of insight - OE for thinking the profession will bite and the profession who decide to avail themselves of the offer...

If OERML gets 5,500 hits per month (About Us), accepting a good chunk are prospective OE patients doing their homework, and a conservative estimated 10% decide against, this site is losing OE a MINIMUM £15,000000 PER YEAR!

Moulsdale said ‘We believe that the laser eye surgery market in the UK and Ireland could decline further in 2014".

"Could"? Guaranteed!

Through sites like this the general public may now be more aware of the dangers of not doing their research properly and unlikely that many working "within optics" are "unaware"

As potential [strike]patients[/strike] victims become less inclined to fall for OE's glossy marketing campaigns and their claim to be the UK's number one provider, business is inevitably drying up. Potential [strike]patients[/strike] victims need to ask where OE's statistics come from and are negative feedback reports from patients included?

OE employ perhaps 1600 staff who need to be utilised, so why not for marketing purposes offering free surgery?! Presuming the lasers are paid for with administrative and premise costs fixed - short term anyway  - it's only the surgeons to pay at a relativeły small fee per eye!

Would advise anyone considering this to question how 'free' the offer is and scrutinise the T&Cs !

These are the last cards played by OE. If nothing changes soon they'll go bankrupt.

"Optical Express has committed to provide free laser procedures for all optometrists, ophthalmologists and dispensing opticians for a limited time.An offer, which extends to students and trainees... the company said it was providing the treatments at no cost in a bid to promote the benefits of the procedure within the profession.
‘It makes sense to ensure that people working within the optical sector have a clear understanding of the full range of treatment now available to patients, and there is no better way of doing that than offering them the chance to experience it first-hand. It’s vitally important that the optometrists, ophthalmologists and dispensing opticians of the future should be fully aware of this popular alternative vision correction solution.
'"

Let's hope one of those within the industry, fully aware of the problems, are stupid enough to take up this offer and end up with problems so they can then share "the benefits of the procedure within the profession."

Desperation reeking from every OE pore!
