In October 2006 I had Lasik surgery at Optical Express clinic in Bluewater. It was OK to start with & I was even recommending laser surgery to friends. But after 2 or 3 months my vision started to deteriorate, causing me headaches and making driving dangerous.

In January 2009 I had a second Lasek retreatment operation at Optical Express.

I had good vision for about 2 months but again it got worse and I'm now back to wearing glasses all the time.

I suffer with depression and pain. I have severe dry eyes and need to use drops every few hours.

My GP referred me to Queen Victoria hospital & I've had multiple procedures done to try and rectify the dry eyes.

I suffer constant pain & cannot touch or rub my right eye.

Every morning I wake up with severe pain in my eyes, and sometimes during the night. This is caused by the scarred eye membrane sticking to my eyelid while I sleep.

I can never wear contact lenses again.

And of course there's the huge amount of money it's cost me, plus unpaid time off work for retreatment, hospital appts, prescription costs, drops for dry eyes, etc.

I did a rough calculation and it's cost me approx £6,000 that I am so far out of pocket. Then add to that the cost of having to buy glasses/prescription sunglasses/eye drops regularly for the rest of my life.

I can't take legal action against Optical Express because I'm out of the 3 year legal limitation time, and recently found out that Optical Express try to keep 'problem patients' in their system for as long as possible so they're too late for legal action when they finally realise Optical Express have damaged their eyes for life :(

But thanks to My Beautiful Eyes advisory service, Optical Express have finally agreed to pay for me to see an independent surgeon, and hopefully through the help of a reputable company, one day I might get a better outcome and will eventually be able to put an end to the daily pain I have to endure thanks to what Optical Express did to my eyes when I was only 23 years old!

Without Sasha's help none of this would of been possible and OE would have continued to fob me off and just play down my issues.
