Definitely get a 2nd opinion.
CXL depends on your Corneal thickness. So not all patients can be treated with it.

Sarah,
Thanks for your response. I had my cross linking in May last year - extremely painful!!!. I'm told it's stabilised my eye but to be honest I don't really trust anything anyone says to me at OE anymore!!!
Probably time to get a 2nd opinion to make me feel more confident.
thank you again,
Will

Hi Will,
I have now had CXL in both eyes following LASIK eye surgery at Optimax. (see 'MissSLK' post Optimax Patients 03 Jan 2015 20:41 www.opticalexpressruinedmylife.co.uk/ind...mbrose.html?start=20 )
I had the right eye done in early 2012 and the left eye just over two months ago.
I should've had it much sooner but Optimax decided it would be better to let my sight deteriorate further rather than stump up the cost for me to have this done privately!
My right eye has remained stable since, it doesn't improve corneal ectasia but it importantly stops it getting any worse. It's too early to know with the left eye as it can take 6 months to get a stable prescription reading so waiting for results, but it's healed well.
My local eye hospital had told me I didn't really have a choice but to have the surgery, and I'd say don't let your eyes get too bad before making the decision.
Hope that helps!

Can anyone tell me if they have had success with corneal cross linking to prevent ectasia as a result of laser surgery?
Many thanks,
Will
